Frequently Asked Questions
What’s in the box?
When you choose your Hanson Saxophone you can expect to receive your Hanson Saxophone of choice, a high quality Hanson case, a mouthpiece, ligature, cap, reed and a neck strap. All accessories are upgradable – speak to us about our range of professional mouthpieces and deluxe neck straps.
What’s the warranty on a Hanson Saxophone?
5 years. You will also receive the famous Hanson 5 year aftercare package: 5 years manufacturers warranty, and also 5 years of free servicing!
What is free servicing?
We recommend that instruments are checked, the mechanism finely adjusted and lubricated yearly. Our free service offer does exactly that and will help keep your sax in good order.
Can I buy a Hanson Saxophone from my local shop?
Yes, and no…. we only sell Hanson Saxophone directly to players, we don’t generally supply shops. This means big savings for you – a typical retail / wholesale ‘mark up’ is 55% so buying direct makes a lot of sense for our customers! However, if you have a preferred local dealer or repair shop which you know and love please tell us about them – our director Alastair Hanson is looking to establish a network of quality repair technicians to look after players and after-sales care and support. Let us know about your local specialist by emailing here: email@example.com
Where can I test a Hanson Saxophone?
The best place to try a Hanson Saxophone is at the Hanson Workshop. We are based in Marsden, Yorkshire, England. It’s essential to make an appointment when visiting to make sure we schedule time to give you the best service and also to make sure we have the instruments you want to test available.
We understand that it’s not necessarily the easiest place for everyone to visit, so if you would like to try a Saxophone without having to travel, you should check out our Trial at Home scheme; we will deliver your new saxophone to your home, you can play it and test everything for two weeks, take it to ensembles and your teacher and make sure that this is the perfect saxophone for you. If for any reason you’re not delighted simply send the instrument back or use our collection service and receive a full refund.
Can I purchase a Hanson Saxophone abroad tax free?
Yes. Around a third of our instruments are sold to customers outside of the United Kingdom and when buying from outside of the UK you can purchase your instrument without paying UK sales tax (VAT). To work out the rice you will pay take our web price and divide by 1.2, this will remove the UK ‘20% Value Added Tax’. For example: Web price £1200 ÷ 1.2 = £1000. Please be aware that local sales tax may be applied by your home nation when the instrument is delivered.
